Doctor Who: Series 5.v
4th-May-2009 05:55 pm - LONG AWAITED POSTING IS POSTED!
look up grin, grin lookup
I know I promised this on May 1st, but I'm afraid I couldn't get it finished until today!

It's time to get typin' and let's write ourselves up Series Five of Doctor Who!

I know that everyone is excited to start sharing our ideas (at least, I am!), so I've set up a few places for discussion for everyone to join. Since we'd like to post only the finished product in this community, I've created two sister communities for discussion, planning, and beta-help.

Firstly! There is the community for the writers. dwv_writers is strictly for writers and beta-ers and will be f-locked to those people in the comm, to prevent spoilers. If you want to write or beta, please comment on the post and then request to join. Fellow mods of this comm (or anyone who'd like to help!), I'd love some assistance setting it up and running it.

Secondly! There is a community for the helpers. People who want to help set up the communities, help advertise our stories, or just fangirl what they love, please head on over to dwv_helpers. This community has open membership and posting and you're welcome to make things flocked or not flocked as you wish. This is not to say that I will not be moderating for abuse, etc. As with the writer's comm, I could use some help!

So head on over, let's have a little fun, eh?

doctor/tardis on top of the world
Hey, guys! Episode has aired on BBC One, and I expect most of our crew here has watched or will be watching soon! Despite my initial worries, I hella loved Christina and can't wait to get to work on my story for virtual series five!

For the writers/betaers/ideamakers, should we have an flocked post in a planning community for idea-sharing and round-table discussions, then put the finished product here for readers?

What do you think?
20th-Mar-2009 07:28 pm - Writers!
Hey everyone,

in the last post, eight people said they'd like to write an episode.

So we need two more, plus five backup writers. I myself am not going to write or backup write, because I would like to play final editor--be the person who reads every story and makes sure that we have a consistent characterization and a continuous arc etc. Of course you can use your own standard betas for your writing, but I will be taking a look at every story as well. Also, I'll be there for all the writers to bounce ideas back and forth and give input and plot advice while they're writing.

If you're on the list of writers, please confirm in the comments that you're still interested. If you're not on the list but want to write a story, please also comment--we need two more writers, and five backup writers, and positions can be switched, so for now, I'd just like to get as many people to sign up as possible.

We have a couple of new mods: daphnie_1 and rude_not_ginger. If you have any questions at all, feel free to contact any one of us. Also, please pimp this comm out to your friends and acquaintances. We need more people!

We had a couple of ideas coming up in the comments to the last post already. As soon as we have enough people signed up as writers, we can all get together in a chat room and discuss any potential plot arcs in more detail.
18th-Mar-2009 11:07 pm - Brainstorming Post
Hey guys!

With my usual skill at time management, I made this virtual season suggestion two days before a bunch of uni deadlines. So... please bear with me while I try to juggle both my fannish and real life obligations and lack the organization an undertaking like this would need for another couple of days. *boards the failboat*

Anyway, a quick summary of my ideas for this project:

Cut for length.Collapse )

Input, ideas, anything that's on your mind--let me know in a comment. Also let me know if you're just expressing enthusiasm for the idea, or if you could imagine joining in as a writer. Feel free to join/watch the community for further updates as well as to pimp it out to anyone you think may be interested.

Thanks for your interest, guys!
